The optical frequency comb, which was awarded the 2005 Nobel Prize in Physics, is one of the revolutionary technologies of the 21st century in the field of optics. At its core lies the detection and stabilization of the carrier-envelope frequency (fceo). For practical applications in precision metrology, there is an urgent need for Fceo detectors that are highly stable, low‑power, low‑noise, and integrated.

Hunan Haomin Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Institute of Semiconductors of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has undertaken intensive R&D efforts based on the concept of on-chip integration of optical systems. In December 2025, the company will launch China’s first industrial‑grade thin‑film lithium niobate (TFLN) FCEO detector, thereby addressing the final critical gap in the domestic supply chain for high‑precision frequency combs. This module achieves, for the first time within a single TFLN chip, supercontinuum generation, second‑harmonic generation (SHG), and beat‑frequency detection, enabling “on‑chip spectral broadening and on‑chip frequency doubling” of FCEO signals. Its large‑scale deployment will close the loop from core components and system equipment to supply‑chain security, helping China secure a leading position in the global optical frequency comb industry.

At the Munich Shanghai Optical Fair held from March 18 to 20, Fceo’s detection modules were showcased alongside Haomin Optoelectronics’ fully locked optical frequency comb products, highlighting their low‑power consumption and high‑performance advantages. These solutions provide efficient, reliable core components for optical frequency comb systems, supporting the practical deployment of applications in precision measurement, time‑and‑frequency transfer, and other scientific research fields.

| Returning in triumph, forging ahead with determination

Honors reflect years of dedicated effort, while unwavering craftsmanship has forged the industry’s enduring prestige. This award represents the laser industry’s high regard for Haomin Optoelectronics’ technological prowess. Moving forward, Haomin Optoelectronics will remain committed to addressing the core light‑source needs of quantum technologies and precision measurement, leveraging more forward‑looking innovation and robust R&D capabilities to drive domestic substitution and upgrade in the laser sector, and continuously inject fresh momentum into the expansion of laser‑based research and application markets.
